ONUKA – Misto (English Translation/Romanization/Ukrainian)

With this one I decided to try something new and do a poetic translation. I'm aware that an English version of this song already exists, but it has different lyrics that don't convey the original Ukrainian text. It was challenging but fun to rhyme while trying to make the words follow the beat the way ONUKA sings it. Maybe I'll do more of these kinds of translations in the future.

This song is a dedication to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and the music video was filmed on its streets. In March 2022, ONUKA released a new short video for this track, showing the desctruction in Kyiv and Ukraine following the full-scale russian invasion – ONUKA - Я тобі даю свою надію.
